Known for heritage, Jaipur now draws tourists to these 5 new destinations

Tourist footfall at some new places of Jaipur including Nahargarh Biological Park, Wax Museum and Lion Safari is increasing rapidly. They are becoming the must-visit places for tourists along with the forts and palaces.

Jaipur: Jaipur is famous for its old majestic forts and palaces among the national and international tourists. Tourists come here to experience the rich tradition and heritage of the old city.

But recently some new tourist spots are attracting a large number of tourists to Jaipur. These include Lion Safari, Nahargarh Biological Park, Wax Museum and Elephant Village. A large number of tourists are visiting these places also.

Usually, the top destinations on the list of tourists include heritage sites of Jaipur including Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, Jal Mahal, Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort, Jantar Mantar, and Albert Hall.

But now new destinations of Jaipur are gaining popularity among tourists. According to the head of Rajasthan Association of tour operators Kuldeep Chandela, the tourist footfall at some new places including Nahargarh Biological Park, Wax Museum and Lion Safari is increasing rapidly. They are becoming the must-visit places for tourists along with forts and palaces.

However, guides and tourism industry stakeholders complain of the lack of promotional activities for these new places. The tourism department officials said that the department is working towards promoting these places among tourists in the near future.

Some of the new famous tourists’ spots are:

1. Jaipur Wax museum: It is situated in Nahargarh Fort and witnesses more than 1000 visitors daily. There are 38 wax statues in the museum.

2. Lion Safari: The newly inaugurated first ever Lion safari of Rajasthani is attracting a lot of tourists every day. For now, the visitors are able to sight three cubs named as Tejas, Tripur, and Taara roaming freely over an area of 36 hectares.

3. Nahargarh Biological Park: Nahargarh Biological Park is located on Delhi- Jaipur Highway and is a favorite place for tourists and locals. Wildlife in their natural habitat at the park attracts a huge number of tourists every day. It was thrown open to public two years ago.

4. Elephant village: A large number of tourists visit the village in huge numbers to book elephant safari. It is located near Amer fort of the city.
