JAIPUR: In a unique fusion of sports and fashion, players from the Rajasthan Royals cricket team interacted with students at Poornima University’s annual fashion show, “Poornima Trends 2024”, held on Saturday.

The event, organized by the Faculty of Design and Arts, showcased designer collections of students on the ramp, with renowned personalities from the fashion world in attendance. The Rajasthan Royals team players, Yuzvendra Chahal, Riyan Parag, and Keshav Maharaj, participated in a “Meet and Greet” session, answering questions in a rapid-fire round in a fun and light-hearted manner.

When asked about his teammates, Riyan Parag described Yuzvendra Chahal as the “funniest player” on the team. If given the chance to create a new rule in cricket, Riyan jokingly suggested that a ball hit out of the ground should score 8 runs instead of 6. Yuzvendra Chahal expressed his desire to have cricket legends MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli on his team. Keshav Maharaj, on the other hand, revealed that if he could time-travel, he would go back in time to meet his grandparents. He also praised Yashasvi Jaiswal as the most stylish player on the team.

The fashion show featured 22 sequences inspired by various elements, including Black Magic, Circus, Blindness, Pregnancy, Clean & Affordable Energy, Transformation, Humans and Pets, and Bio Mimicry. Some sequences conveyed social messages, such as the “Heart of a Man” sequence, which highlighted the balance between family and profession, and another sequence that explored the changes in the lives of teenagers. The students of JIET, Jodhpur, also showcased their collections at the event.

Shashikant Singhi, Chairperson of Poornima University, and Dr. Suresh Chandra Padhy, President of Poornima University, were present at the event. The evening concluded with awards being presented for the Most Creative Collection, Best Social Awareness Concept, and Best Ready to Wear Collection.

The unique interaction between the Rajasthan Royals players and the students of Poornima University added a new dimension to the annual fashion show, making it a memorable event for all involved.
