Twenty-nine student leaders will content the RU elections for the post of president, vice president, general secretary and joint secretary. A total of 50 nominations were filed on Saturday out of which 29 candidates withdrew their nominations on Monday.

Senior police officers said that 15 people have been arrested from Pipar area in Jodhpur. Of them, 10 were produced in a court and sent to judicial custody. Interrogation with five others is still going on. Two others have been arrested from Osian. They are also being quizzed. The police have launched a search for others also.

The accused were identified as Faizan Ali, Mohammed Anwar Ali and Faizan Shief. The accused men are residents of Delhi and Bihar. The police have seized a bike, four weapons and 11 cartridges from their possession.

The Rajasthan University announced on Thursday that only those students who have enrolled in the university by August 21 will be able to vote in the upcoming elections. There had been a delay in admissions in law colleges and it has deprived the law students of exercising their franchise. The voters' list was released on Thursday.
