Rajasthan University student union election dates 2018

Jaipur: The Rajasthan University students are eagerly waiting for the results of the state student union elections 2018 which are scheduled to be announced in all the universities on September 11. However, the academic activities will suffer for 18 days in RU and nine other universities due to the gap between the day voting took place and the day the results will be announced.

The polling was successfully conducted in all the universities on August 31 except for JNVU in Jodhpur. The voting at JNVU will take place on September 10 due to CM Raje’s Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra.

The academic classes take place for 184 days in a year excluding all the holidays as per the student academic calendar of Rajasthan University. The number of days has been reduced to 164 days due to the delay in announcement of the election results. The classes will get affected for 18 days in the university, said Prof. RD Gurjar, Former DSW of Rajasthan University.

This happened due to the late announcement of student union elections and the delay in election polling at JNVU with the ongoing CM Raje’s Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra in the state, added Prof. Gurjar.

This is for the first time that the election process got dragged for 18 days in Rajasthan. The university administration usually completes the election process within 8-10 days.

Academics of more than 5 lakh students will be affected in 10 universities including Rajasthan University of Jaipur, MDS Ajmer, Kota University, Mohanlal Sukhdia University of Udaipur, Ganga Singh University Bikaner and the Matsya University of Alwar. More than 2 Lakh students of 150 government colleges of Rajasthan will also be affected.
