RU election:8  candidates in fray for president post; no joint secretary in NSUI panel

JAIPUR: There will be eight candidates in the fray for the post of president in the Rajasthan University (RU) student union election 2022. Both NSUI and ABVP candidates will face fierce competition from independent candidates.

NSUI has not fielded any candidate for the post of joint secretary. There are only two candidates in the fray for this post.

NSUI candidates filed nominations for the post of vice-president and general secretary without any formal announcement of the panel.

Seven student leaders submitted 10 nomination papers for the post of president. The independent candidates have filed two nomination papers each. Seven nominations were received for the post of vice president, 12 for the post of general secretary and only two for the post of joint secretary.

Six candidates are in the fray for the election of research student representatives. Tuesday is the last day for the withdrawal of nominations.

Following are the candidates for the president post:

• Narendra Yadav from ABVP,
• Ritu Barala from NSUI
• Rajendra Kumar Gora from SFI
• Niharika Jorwal, Sanjay Chaudhary, Nirmal Chaudhary, Pratap Bhanu Meena, Heteshwar Kumar as independents

For the post of general secretary, the following candidates are in the fray:

• Arvind Jhajhra
• Tejpal Bhati,
• Amardeep Parihar,
• Rajendra Chaudhary,
• Rohitash Kumar Meena,
• Sanjay Chaudhary,
• Arjun Kumar,
• Alok Sharma,
• Akash Meena,
• Lekhraj Samota,
• Pratap Bhanu Meena,
• Gulab Meena

Sanchay Chaudhary and Pratap Bhanu Meena have filed nominations for both the posts of President and General Secretary.

The following candidates have filed nominations for the post of vice-president:

• Abhishek Meena,
• Kamal Kishore Beniwal,
• Twinkle Sharma,
• Sakshi Sharma,
• Ameesha Meena,
• Nikita Famra,
• Muskan Shekhawat

The fight for the joint secretary will be between Krishna Kanwar of ABVP and Dhara Kumawat of SFI.

Six students have filled nine nomination papers for research student representative including Ramswaroop Ola, Rishabh Chaudhary, Deshraj Chetiwal, Pushpendra Singh, Rajendra Gavadia and Nisha.
