RU election 2018: JMC launches anti-defection drive against student leaders in Rajasthan University
In pursuance of the report of Lyngdoh Committee, the campaign aims at preventing student leaders and their supporters from defacing the walls of the city with posters and banners. Strict actions will be taken against violators.

Jaipur: Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has launched an anti-defection drive at Rajasthan University for the student union election 2018, scheduled to take place on August 31.
JMC and police launched the drive against student leaders littering walls with banners and posters at 8.00 am on Thursday.
In pursuance of the report of Lyngdoh Committee, the campaign aims at preventing student leaders and their supporters from defacing the walls of the city with posters and banners. Strict actions will be taken against violators. A letter to the Vice Chancellor of Rajasthan university will also be written to disqualify student leader found defacing public walls from contesting the elections.
The FIR was lodged against some of the student’s leaders last month under various sections of the Rajasthan Prevention of Defacement of property Act.

Students leaders seeking to fight Rajasthan University (RU) student union election 2018 have started campaigning. In some cases, student leaders are ignoring campaigning guidelines and are not hesitating to create ruckus on the campus.
The student union elections of 2018 will take place on August 31 in Rajasthan University and other universities of the state except for JNVU. In JNVU the polling will take place on September 10 due to CM Raje’s Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra.
