Jaipur: The Rajasthan University (RU) administration will start the process of online admission for graduate and post graduate courses in its affiliated colleges from June 1. The majority of colleges affiliated with RU are situated in Jaipur and Dausa. The administration process will begin as the RU will declare cut-off marks for all the constituent colleges. The percentile formula will be used to give equal opportunity to students of RBSE and CBSE, RU officials said.

There are 6500 seats in Commerce College, Rajasthan College, Maharaja College and Maharani College in Jaipur. However, there are 1.25 lakh students who cleared the RBSE class 12 exams recently. Of them, nearly 73,000 are from arts stream, 9,500 are from Commerce stream and 44,300 from Science stream. The number of CBSE students is nearly 10,000.

The competition will be tough for students seeking admission in the constituent colleges. “The student can apply online for admissions from June 1. We will use the percentile formula this year also. The average cut off for admission in the constituent colleges was 70%. We expect it to be more or less the same this year also,” said an RU officer.

The officer added that the preparations are being made for the admissions.

“We will try to ensure that the students are able to submit their forms without any hassles. The steps are being taken to ensure that the website is not down when there is a spike in traffic,” said the officer.
