Mobile app for 3 major upcoming parking spaces in Walled City to be launched

Jaipur: The Walled city will get the smart parking facilities at three major locations including Chaugan Stadium, Surajpol Anaj Mandi and Aatish Market by the end of this year under the smart city project mission.
The parking grounds will be able to accommodate around 1000 vehicles collectively. The project will ease the parking problem in the Walled City. A mobile application will also be launched using which vehicle owners will be able to check the availability and book parking space, said officials.
According to Senior Smart City Project official, the decision to build multi-storied parking buildings in the major areas was taken considering the traffic congestion in the Walled City areas. The parking project at Aatish market, Chaugan Stadium, and Surajpol Anaj Mandi will benefit a lot of commuters and residents.
A mobile application is also being designed under the project through which the commuter will be able to check the available parking space in the parking grounds and will also be able to book a space for his/her vehicle at the spot. More details of the application will come soon, added officials.
The parking will be operated with help of the latest smart parking technologies. CCTV and sensors will be installed to help commuters locate the parking space on the operator’s device.
The work process at different parking locations:
Chaugan Stadium
Two-story underground parking space at Chaugan Stadium will be able to accommodate nearly 350 vehicles at a time. The work is in the process and probably be completed by September this year. The traffic congestion between Gangori Bazaar and Bramhpuri will be reduced.
Surajpol Anaj Mandi
The multistory parking space will be able to accommodate nearly 300 vehicles at a time. The work is in the process and probably be completed by December in this year. The traffic congestion on Sansarchand Road along with nearby markets will be reduced.
Aatish Market
The two-storied parking space will be able to accommodate nearly 350 vehicles at a time. The work is expected to start before the enforcement of the model code of conduct for Lok Sabha elections 2019 in the state. The traffic congestion near Chaura Rasta will be reduced.
