Jaipur: If you are planning to get an international driving license from Regional Transport Office (RTO) Jaipur, you won’t have to feel embarrassed by its ugly look. The license was earlier simply printed on an A-4 size paper, but it will now have a smart-card like look.

The card was released by Rajasthan transport minister Yunus Khan.

He said that Jaipur RTO office was being completely transformed.

It will be the first paperless transport office in Rajasthan, he said adding that all the documents will be available online.

People will be able to apply for vehicle registration also online.

Like passport office, documents will be scanned and preserved online. Original documents will be returned to the vehicle owner.

“Jaipur RTO will be completely paperless within the next two months,” said Khan.

The minister was speaking at the occasion of inauguration of a brand new license hall in Jaipur RTO.

All automobile dealers will be connected online with Jaipur RTO so that they can send documents and complete vehicle registration formalities online.

License and vehicle tax deposit process have already been made online.

Khan gave international driving licenses to two retired government employees on this occasion and said that people going aboard used to feel embarrassed due to the ugly look of the international driving license.

“Now it has been given a smart-card look. Instead of feeling embarrassed, people can flaunt it,” said Khan.
