JAIPUR: The automatic driving trial track in Jaipur will now be operated by the Transport Department, taking over from a private firm that has managed the track for the past two years.
Since 2021, the private firm had been responsible for conducting trials on the track for permanent driving licenses, leaving no role for departmental officers or employees in the process.
The Automatic License Trial Track currently accommodates 400 trial slots daily, with 200 people participating in trials for two-wheeler licenses and 200 for four-wheeler licenses.
However, the trials have been conducted nominally for the past 15 days.
The track features four tests to evaluate drivers’ skills and adherence to traffic rules. The first test requires candidates to score a minimum of 8 points by following traffic regulations.
In the second test, drivers must navigate the course in a pattern resembling the letter “H” in English. The third test involves demonstrating proper vehicle parking techniques, while the fourth test ensures that cars do not roll backward during loading.
