Jaipur: Jaipur Discom has launched a new function for the spot billing system. Now people will be able to pay bills at their doorstep as soon as it gets generated by feeder in-charge after he or she takes reading from the meter. Now you don’t have to visit e-mitra or go to subdivision counter for electricity bill payments.

Feeder in-charge has been authorized to provide payment receipts to consumers after generating bills and receiving payments at their doorstep.

This system has been implemented for the first time in the state. Each feeder in-charge has been given the responsibility of collecting about a thousand consumer’s meter readings and collecting the bill payments on the spot.

Jaipur Discom has also linked the spot billing handset device machine and mobile phone with Google location to get rid of complaints in bill generation.

The new bill payment system has been launched in Jaipur rural circle (JPDC), Alwar, Dausa, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Karauli, Tonk, Kota, Bara, Jhalawar, Bundi and 12 others circles of Jaipur Discom. It will probably be rolled out in Jaipur city circle (JCC) after the upcoming state assembly elections.

Under the new system, the feeder in-charge after taking readings of the meter and generating the bill in the spot billing system will be able to receive bill payments on the spot. The consumers will not have to go to E-Mitra or subdivision counter for bill payments. The payments can be paid to the feeder in-charge immediately after receiving the bill.

According to RG Gupta, CMD of Jaipur Discom, consumers in remote areas and towns do not receive bills on time and then they have to pay penalties for the late payments. Now an option will be available for the users to make bill payments at the time of bill reading by the feeder in-charge.

Feeder in-charge must be present within at least 5 meters of the electricity meter, only then he’ll be able to generate meter readings. He will have to reach at the users’ spot for the readings. Spot Billing device machine and mobile phone have been linked to Google GPS. This step has been taken to ensure less difficulty and no fault in bill generation and payments, added Gupta.
