Jaipur discom allows consumers to pay electricity bills exceeding Rs 20K offline till December
According to the CMD of Jaipur Discom RG Gupta, the decision of accepting offline bills has been taken by keeping in mind problems being faced by consumers in making online payments for electricity bills exceeding Rs 20,000. The consumers will be able to pay power bills either online or offline till December 31.

Jaipur: People will now be able to pay electricity bills above Rs 20,000 offline – in the form of cash, DD or cheque at least till December 31. The Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) has announced that the power bill payments exceeding Rs 20,000 can now be paid offline too. First, it was mandatory to pay bill payments above Rs 20,000 online only.
Jaipur Discom has exceeded the limit of paying electricity bills offline till December 31.
According to the CMD of Jaipur Discom RG Gupta, the decision of accepting offline bills has been taken by keeping in mind problems being faced by consumers in making online payments for electricity bills exceeding Rs 20,000. The consumers will be able to pay power bills either online or offline till December 31.

Earlier, consumers had to pay electricity bill above Rs 20,000 online except consumers having an agriculture connection. Agencies or e-Mitra which accepted cash payment or cheque payment were imposed a fine of Rs 500 and Rs 2000 respectively.
JVVNL is still promoting online payments. It launched a scheme under which lucky consumers paying electricity bills through Bijli Mitra App will be given cash prizes of up to Rs 5 Lakh.
Recently, Jaipur Discom had launched a new function for the spot billing system. People are able to pay bills at their doorstep as soon as it gets generated by feeder in-charge after he or she takes reading from the meter.
