Jaipur: After a brief lull, the daily count of coronavirus cases has begun to surge in the state, fuelling concerns of a possible second wave of the infection.

The state logged 176 new cases on Sunday of which Jaipur reported fresh 24 cases. Doctors warned that growing laxity in following covid appropriate behaviour is a major reason behind the rising tide of the cases which can morph into a second wave.

The doctors said that fresh cases related to covid-19 complications have slowly begun to fill up the hospital beds. Since January onwards, the daily count of coronavirus cases had begun to decline at a steady place and plateaued during the last week of February.

However, with the beginning of March, fresh cases have begun to rise up again. With major festivals like Holi coming up, health officials urged people to follow the coivd-19 protocol to prevent any health related complications.
