Alwar: ACB arrests AEN for taking bribe of Rs 1 lakh

Jaipur: The Alwar team of Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested assistant engineer (AEN) of Jaipur Vidhyut Vitaran Nigam (JVVN) Ramesh Chand Meena after he was allegedly caught accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh on Thursday. Ramesh Meena was trapped at the JVVNL office in Neemrana town of Alwar district.
The ACB had received a tip-off that Ramesh was demanding bribe following which a trap was laid. The ACB officials allegedly caught Ramesh red-handed while accepting the bribe. Ramesh was arrested and booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Searches are being carried out at several places belonging to the AEN including his house in Jaipur.
The ACB had earlier arrested additional director of narcotics control bureau Sahiram Meena after he was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh. Properties worth Rs 300 crore were unearthed during the subsequent searches.
On Monday, the ACB trapped senior section engineer Rakesh Meena taking a bribe of Rs 85,000.
