ACB trap in Bharatpur: Govt doctor arrested for taking bribe

JAIPUR: A senior medical officer posted at a community health centre in the Pahari area of Bharatpur district, was arrested after his middleman was caught red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 on his behalf. Doctor Mohan Singh demanded a bribe from a man’s family members for providing a favourable medical report in a police case, DG ACB BL Soni said.
Dr Mohan Singh was arrested after his middleman, identified as Kuldeep alias Kulli, was caught red-handed taking the bribe. DG ACB Soni said that the brother of a man approached the agency and registered a complaint against Dr Singh.
“Dr Singh was asking for 30,000 to show the injuries sustained by the brother of the ACB complainant as serious so that the police case lodged by him could be stronger,” said an ACB officer.
The officer added that the ACB complainant was asked to hand over the bribe to Kuldeep who was caught red-handed accepting Rs 20,000.
Dr Mohan Singh and Kuldeep were arrested and booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation is going on. Searches are being carried out at the house, office and other places linked to the senior medical officer.
