Jaipur: The Rajasthan anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested woman and child development department’s deputy director in Bundi Mithilesh Jain after she was allegedly caught taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from women anganbari supervisors.

Mithilesh was demanding a monthly commission of Rs 12,000 from the woman supervisors who were responsible for managing 56 ananbari centres in two sectors in Hindauli. Mithilesh had already taken Rs 2000. She was trapped by ACB when she was allegedly accepting the remaining amount of the bribe on Monday. Searches were carried out at several places in Bundi and Ajmer, the place of her primary residence.

“We had received a complaint against her. After the complaint was verified, a trap was laid. She was caught red-handed taking Rs 10,000 on Monday,” said a senior ACB officer.

The ACB team recovered Rs 15,000 from her bag apart from the trap amount. She was booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and arrested. She will be produced in a special ACB court on Tuesday.

Mithilesh was deputed as deputy director in Bundi two years ago. She was due to retire in the next four years.
