Jaipur: Until now, one needed to go to an e-mitra center to deposit the penalty for Pollution under Control (PuC) certificate in Jaipur and across Rajasthan. But to make it convenient for people, the transport department has made the facility of paying PUC penalty online.

If you couldn’t get your vehicle’s pollution level checked on time, you need to pay the penalty. Here is how to pay the PUC penalty online in Jaipur and rest of Rajasthan:

Go to sso.rajasthan.gov.in

Register yourself as a citizen.

Once you log in, you need to click on the E-mitra option.

On the dashboard, you will find the option of Services. You need to click on that link.

Click on the Utility link on the next page.

You can deposit the penalty for PUC there. You have to provide certain details such as vehicle registration number, vehicle category, fuel category and expiry date. A Get Bill details option will be opened once you have filled in all these details. You can pay after clicking on this link.

The transport department has given a grace period of seven days until which no penalty will be imposed. For example, if your PUC expired on June 1, you won’t have to pay any penalty if you get a new PUC by June 7.

Earlier, the vehicle owner had to pay the penalty even the next day after the PUC expired. Additional chief secretary of transport department Shailendra Agarwal issued orders to this effect on July 4.

“Earlier, people had to go to an E-mitra center and then take the vehicle to a pollution check center. It was a hassle, so we decided to make the facility of paying PUC penalty online in Jaipur and rest of Rajasthan,” said a transport department officer. The family of online payment will be available at pollution check centers also.
