Suspects rounded up in Jaipur gangrape case, a ‘twist in the tale’ likely

Jaipur: The police have rounded up three suspects in the case of gang rape with a 22-year-old girl by four men including an auto driver three days ago. Initial reports suggest that at least two of the detained men are known to the girl. The police, however, remained tightlipped about the suspects and said that they will disclose the details in few hours as soon as the interrogation is complete.
Sources said that there is likely to be a twist in the tale. The girl wasn’t randomly kidnapped and gangraped. She knew the culprits.
The girl registered an FIR with the police on Tuesday saying that she was gang raped by four men after she hired an auto from Jaipur railway station. She expressed ignorance about the identify of all the four men; however, police now suspect that at least one of the criminals was known to her.

The police had studied call details of the girl’s cell phone and conducted a physical verification of the incident by taking the girl to the spot where she was raped.
Based on that, the police identified one of the suspects and rounded him up from Chomu, sources said.
The girl told the police that she arrived at Jaipur railway station on Monday evening after appearing in an exam in Alwar. As soon as the auto left the railway station, three men got into it and kidnapped her. They then took her to an isolated place and gang raped her, according to the girl. She was dumped near one of the entrance gates of MNIT.
Demonstations were held by women organisations, student groups, and opposition parties following the incident.
