NSUI leaders after getting discharged from hospital

Jaipur: NSUI candidate for president post Ranveer Singhania and state NSUI president Abhimanyu Poonia were discharged from SMS Hospital on Thursday, nearly 12 hours after they were attacked by unknown men near Aravali Hostel.

Both the student leaders came to Rajasthan University campus after getting discharged from the hospital and blamed the BJP-led state government for the incident.

Abhimanyu Poonia told media persons that it want a conspiracy. He said that the government doesn’t want the NSUI to win the RU elections 2018. Despite the heavy force deployed at the campus, this incident happened.

“We were brutally beaten up by men carrying iron rods and other weapons near the geography department of the campus. There was no police force around the area when the incident happened. This is a conspiracy of the government to hurt our chances of winning the elections. The Rajasthan government is scared of the NSUI leaders and hence ordering lathicharge and attacks on the students. We will give an answer to this attack in the election tomorrow by winning it,” said Poonia.

Congress politician Pratap Khachariyawas reached SMS hospital and met the NSUI leaders. A large number of NSUI workers gathered around the hospital for the support.

NSUI held a protest at the university’s main gate. Congress MLA Dheeraj Gurjar reached the spot.

On the other hand, ABVP is accusing NSUI of attempting to gain sympathy by staging a bogus attack incident.

“Why has NSUI not demanded any arrest in the case? CCTV footage of the campus must be verified,” ABVP leaders said.

Student leaders alleged this is probably for the first time in the history of Rajasthan University student union elections that a candidate for the president post has been attacked in such a brutal manner.

According to police, Ranveer Singh was getting threat calls since morning. He was threatened on the phone to withdraw his name from the elections.
