Rajasthan student union elections 2018 dates announced, polls in RU, MLSU, MDSU on August 31

The first phase elections for all the universities and constituent colleges including Rajasthan University (RU) in Jaipur, Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU) in Udaipur and Maharshi Dayanand Sarswati University (MDSU) in Ajmer and their constituent colleges. The second phase elections in Jodhpur division, particularly Jai Narayan Vyas University (JNVU) will take place on September 10.

Rajasthan University student union election dates 2018

Jaipur: The dates for Rajasthan student union elections 2018 have been announced. The elections will take place in two phases. The first phase elections for all the universities and constituent colleges including Rajasthan University (RU) in Jaipur, Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU) in Udaipur and Maharshi Dayanand Sarswati University (MDSU) in Ajmer and their constituent colleges.

The second phase elections in Jodhpur division, particularly Jai Narayan Vyas University (JNVU) will take place on September 10.

The Rajasthan University (RU) leaders took out a show of strength rally on its Jaipur campus on Monday.

The ABVP and NUSI have already started campaigning for the elections. They have been demanding for the student union election dates to be announced. Higher education minister Kiran Maheshwari had assured students that the elections would be conducted by the end of August.

Student union elections in JNVU will be conducted on September 10 in the second phase.

Student union elections will be closely watched by political experts as they are taking place ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Rajasthan. Congress-supported NSUI and BJP-supported ABVP candidates and their supporters will leave no stone unturned to win the elections.

Earlier in the student union elections of 2017 the Akhil Bharatiya Vidharthi Parishad (ABVP) won the presidential posts at five universities in Rajasthan. Rebels bagged two universities including Rajasthan University in Jaipur, while NSUI had to be content with only two. ABVP emerged victorious on the presidential post at 63 colleges, NSUI at 23, independents at 30 and others at 11.

NSUI – a Congress-backed student organization – will want to win to send a strong message before the assembly elections in Rajasthan scheduled to take place in few months.
