Rajasthan polls 2018: BJP Rebel Gyandev Ahuja withdraws nomination

Three BJP rebels including Bhavani Singh Rajawat, Gyandev Ahuja and Tarun Rai Kaga decided to withdraw their nomination and resignation. Gyandev Ahuja said that he would support Lahoty in Sanganer. The party’s senior leaders are learnt to have promised these rebels important roles for them after the BJP comes into power.

Jaipur: BJP Rebel Gyandev Ahuja agreed to withdraw his nomination after meeting BJP national president Amit Shah, CM Vasundhara Raje and Mayor Ashok Lahoty at Jaipur airport on Wednesday. Gyandev Ahuja filed his nomination from Sanganer seat as an independent candidate after being denied the ticket. The party fielded present Mayor Ashok Lahoty from the Sanganer assembly against Congress candidate Pushpendra Bhardwaj.

Rebels have become a challenge for BJP ever since the list of candidates was released. The BJP is now trying to control the damage and convince the rebel candidates to come back into the party’s fold.

Three BJP rebels including Bhavani Singh Rajawat, Gyandev Ahuja and Tarun Rai Kaga decided to withdraw their nomination and resignation. Gyandev Ahuja said that he would support Lahoty in Sanganer. The party’s senior leaders are learnt to have promised these rebels important roles for them after the BJP comes into power.

Gyandev Ahuja demanded a ticket from Sanganer assembly to contest the Rajasthan polls 2018, scheduled on December 7. The BJP denied him the ticket and fielded Ashok Lahoty. Disappointed by the decision, Gyandev Ahuja left the BJP and decided to fight the election as an independent candidate from Sanganer assembly of Jaipur on Sunday.
