Jaipur: The Rajasthan assembly election fever that had gripped the state has come to an end. The results were declared on Tuesday and the Congress is set to form the government after winning 100 seats. The BJP won 73.
Here is how prominent leaders including PM Modi, Congress president Raul Gandhi, PCC chief Sachin Pilot, Congress general secretary Ashok Gehlot, and former CM Vasundhara Raje reacted after the results of assembly elections 2018 were declared.
Congress President Rahul Gandhi said in a press conference, “I thank everyone who supported the Congress party and the volunteers who worked hard for the party in the states we have won and the states we have lost. There is a huge responsibility on Congress party now. And we will work towards fulfilling promises we made in these states. Our fight is against the mentality of BJP. We have defeated them and will defeat them in 2019”.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted after the elections results,” Congratulations to the Congress for their victories. Congratulations to KCR Garu for the thumping win in Telangana and to the Mizo National Front (MNF) for their impressive victory in Mizoram”
“We accept the people’s mandate with humility. I thank the people of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan for giving us the opportunity to serve these states. The BJP governments in these states worked tirelessly for the welfare of the people,” he further tweeted.
“The family of BJP Karyakartas worked day and night for the state elections. I salute them for their hard work. Victory and defeat are an integral part of life. Today’s results will further our resolve to serve people and work even harder for the development of India,” he added.
PCC Chief Sachin Pilot tweeted, “I thank people for their votes and setting a record-breaking statistic in Tonk. Together we will put together the foundations of a developed state by transforming Tonk and Rajasthan in which every section of the society will be promoted”.
Outgoing Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje tweeted, ‘While I congratulate INC, I am very proud of the work my government has done in the last 5 years. Hope the incoming Govt. will continue our good work and consolidate the multiple interventions we made to benefit the people of Rajasthan – a state I will be personally committed to”.
“Hearty congratulations and best wishes to all the winning candidates in Rajasthan assembly elections. I have full faith that you will stand on the people’s expectation and will do the good work for public service,” she added.
Senior Congress leader and former Rajasthan’s CM Ashok Gehlot tweeted,” Thanks to the people of the state to bless the Congress with the majority of votes, it is the victory of the people. Rajasthan has refuted the agenda of Rahulji’s development by denying hatred, polarization, casteism and issueless politics. The mandate received for Congress is a big message for the country’s politics in the future.
