The four prisoners accused of Shakir Ullah murder in Jaipur Central Jail.

Jaipur: The Lalkothi police has taken four prisoners of Jaipur central jail on production warrant to interrogate them in connection with the murder of Pak national Shakir Ullah.

The four accused, identified as Bhajan Meena, Ajeet, Manoj and Kulwinder, are accused of murdering Shakir on February 20 after a brawl over TV volume.

The police officials are interrogating the accused prisoners at Lalkothi police station. They will be produced in the court soon.

Pakistani prisoner identified as Shakir Ullah (45) was murdered at Jaipur Central Jail on February 20.

The news hogged the headlines in the wake of Pulwama terror attack. It was assumed that the prisoner was murdered in an outrageous reaction against the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. But the investigations revealed that the two groups of prisoners fought over an item song that was being played on the TV in the jail’s common room.

Shakir Ullah aka Mohammed Hanif was lodged in Jaipur Central Jail on espionage charges.

The Rajasthan government removed Jaipur jail superintendent and a jailor from duty, while suspended two other prison officials following the murder of Pakistan prisoner Shakir Ullah.
