JAIPUR: Sawai Mansingh (SMS) Stadium in Jaipur will host Indian Premier League (IPL) matches after a gap of three years.
Rajasthan Royals will play two matches in Guwahati but will play three matches at their home ground SMS Stadium in Jaipur.
The cricket fans in Jaipur said that they were looking forward to enjoying the match at the stadium.
“It’s great that IPL matches will be organized at SMS Stadium in Jaipur. I and my friends will definitely book our seats to enjoy the matches at the stadium,” said Ashutosh Prakash, a Sodala resident.
The league round will see 70 matches at 12 places over a period of 52 days.
The first match will be played between defending champion Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings on March 31. The final match will be played on May 28.
The schedule for four playoff matches and the stadiums where they will be played will be released later.
BCCI released the tournament schedule on Friday.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) will return to a home-and-away format for the first time since 2019, the organising Indian cricket board (BCCI) said on Friday, bringing to an end three seasons of COVID-19 restrictions.
“The 16th season of the IPL will revert to the home and away format, where all the teams will play 7 home games and 7 away games respectively in the league stage,” the BCCI said in a statement.
