Jaipur: Silver medalist archer Rajat Chauhan receives grand welcome

A large crowd gathered to receive Rajat at the airport on his arrival. As soon as he walked out of the airport, people mounted him on their shoulders in celebration. Family members and relatives offered him sweets and garlands.

Rajat Chauhan receives a warm welcome at Jaipur International Airport

Jaipur: Silver medalist archer from Jaipur Rajat Chauhan was welcomed by a large crowd at Jaipur International Airport on Friday afternoon. Not only family members, relatives and local residents, but politicians also lined up at the airport to congratulate Rajat, who made the city proud by winning Silver in Asian Games 2018.

A large crowd gathered to receive Rajat at the airport on his arrival. As soon as he walked out of the airport, people mounted him on their shoulders in celebration. Family members and relatives offered him sweets and garlands.

Rajat Chauhan’s family members’ faces were filled with joy and proud when they saw their son coming out of the airport with a silver medal on his neck.

Rajat touched his parents’ feet as soon as he got out from the airport’s gate. People and family members of Rajat Chauhan decorated a road near Sanganer area and a grand reception was held near Rajat’s house on his homecoming.

Congress politician Suresh Mishra reached the airport to welcome Rajat and gifted him the Indian flag. Several members of sports association also reached the airport to facilitate Rajat Chauhan. Later Jaipur Mayor Ashok Lahoti visited Rajat’s house in Sanganer area and congratulated him.

Rajat won the silver medal at the final shutdown of Men’s Compound Archery battle with South Korea at the Asian Games 2018 on Tuesday. The Indian men’s compound archery team consisted of Rajat Chauhan, Aman Saini, and Abhishek Verma. The team narrowly lost to Korea in a dramatic final match for Gold and settled for Silver.

Rajat Chauhan lives in Sanganer area of Jaipur. He started archery at the age of sixteen and became the star archer of Rajasthan.
