Jaipur Airport: Terminal – 1 for international flights to be operational in new year

JAIPUR: The preparations are in full swing to make Terminal – 1 of Jaipur International Airport functional in 2023. The terminal will be used for operating international flights. For this, most of the infrastructure has already been developed. This includes setting up immigration and customs counters, conveyor belts and the lounge. 

Currently, only one terminal is operational at Jaipur Airport. Terminal – 2 is being used for domestic as well as international flights. This has massively increased the passenger load at the terminal. 

The development of Terminal – 1 has been going on for the last several months. Sources said that it is finally nearing completion and will be launched within the first few months of the next year. 

“Loading-unloading machines have been installed in the building. Immigration counters have also been made. The conveyor belt is also ready. Counters of airlines and customs and other agencies are almost ready. Offices have been built on the first floor. The shopping area is also ready,” said an airport administration officer. 

“Some last-minute improvements are being done currently. The terminal will be dedicated used for operating international flights. This will make the operation of flights from Jaipur Airport much smoother,” said the officer.
