Jaipur airport runway to close for 7 hours every day for infrastructure development

Jaipur Airport authorities to build a new taxi track and connect it with the runway. A total of 11 flights will be affected due to the closure of the runway.

Jaipur: From March 1, the Jaipur International Airport won’t operate fights for seven hours every day to build a new taxi track and connect it with the runway.

The development of this infrastructure will allow flights to save time while landings and take offs. The work is expected to be complete by the end of May.

A total of 11 flights will be affected due to the closure of the runway.

The direct connectivity to four cities including Jodhpur, Indore, Chandigarh and Jammu will be worst affected. The passengers will have to book connecting flights to fly to these cities during these three months.

The airport administration has decided to stop landings and take offs from 10.30 am to 6 am every day fromMarch 1.

There is only flight each for Jodhpur, Indore, Chandigarh and Jammu. Passengers have to book connecting flights via Delhi to fly to Chandigarh and Jammu. Those flying to Indore will have to book a connecting flight via Mumbai.

The airfare for several other destinations including Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi and Udaipur is also likely to increase.
