FIR lodged against Rajasthan minister for violating model code of conduct

Jaipur: An FIR has been registered against minister of state for rural development, Dhan Singh Rawat for violating the model code of conduct on Monday. He had said while addressing a public meeting at his home district Banswara that all Hindus should unite and vote for Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). He was booked for seeking votes in the name of religion.
The district collector issued a notice to Dhan Singh Rawat for violating the model code of conduct by comparing the parties on religion basis.
Minister of state for rural development, Dhan Singh Rawat said in his controversial remarks while addressing a rally on October 26 at Banswara that Congress is a Muslims party. If all Muslims are uniting to vote for Congress than all Hindus should also vote for BJP.
All Hindus should vote for BJP and the party should win a majority in the upcoming assembly elections. What if some development works are undone, they will be done later for sure, added Rawat.
The election polling of Rajasthan Assembly election 2018 will take place on December 7 and the results will be out on December 11.
State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Anand Kumar said that the district election officer first sought a reply on the matter from Dhan Singh. He was given three-day time to response. Finally, an FIR was lodged against him to violate the code of conduct on Monday.
According to union HRD Minister and party election in charge Prakash Javadekar, the BJP party believes in ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas’. It doesn’t rule on the basis of caste and religion neither it compares the voters on these criteria.
