Bomb scare and plane highjack mock drill conducted at Jaipur international airport

The teams of police, CRPF, airport security agencies and dog and bomb disposal squads reached the spot. The commuters at the airport were escorted to a safe place on the premises. The passengers in the flight were rescued from terrorists using the isolation method.

Jaipur: Panic gripped Jaipur International airport on Friday when information of a plane hijack and bomb scare was received by the police control room. The CRPF jawans along with other security personnel swung into action. However, it was later revealed by the administration that it was a mock drill to check the security preparedness of the agencies.

The teams of police, CRPF, airport security agencies and dog and bomb disposal squads reached the spot. The commuters at the airport were escorted to a safe place on the premises. The passengers in the flight were rescued from terrorists using the isolation method.

QRT Commando and ATS teams conducted the search operation to find the terrorists. Officials from police Commissionerate, civil defense, and several security forces also reached the spot.

According to the officials, the information was received by the control room that a plane had been hijacked after its landing and the terrorists had planted a bomb on the airport premises.

The security forces started searching for the bomb at the airport with bomb disposal and dog squads. The administration later revealed that the exercise was a part of a mock drill.

“This exercise was conducted by the administration to check the security measures and operational preparedness for handling these kinds of terrorist insurgency,” a police officer said.
