Jaipur: The Alwar police on Saturday held an identification parade for the identification of the suspects in the Thanagazi gangrape case by the victim. The identification parade was held for three of the suspects – Hansraj Gurjar, Indraj Gurjar and Mahesh Gurja at Alwar Central Jail. The victim and her husband identified the culprits. The report will be submitted to the court in a sealed envelop.

The police had arrested all the five main accused in the gang rape case that has taken a political colour. One more man was arrested for sharing the gang rape video on social media channels. Three of the suspects – Chhotelal Gurjar, Ashok Gurjar and Mahesh Gurjar are in police custody till May 13. They are being interrogated by the senior police officers.

The police are trying to identify the people who sheltered these men when they were hiding from the police.

Rajya Sabha member Kirori Lal Meena and his 150 supporters courted arrest in protest of the incident accusing the state government of hushing up the rape case to avoid damage to the Congress before the voting for the Lok Sabha elections.

Meena is demanding a CBI probe into the matter. He said that an FIR should be registered against the police officials who didn’t take action immediately.

The accused spotted the victim and her husband on a bike. They intercepted the bike and took the couple to a nearby isolated place. They tied up the husband after beating him up and raped the woman.

They made a video of the incident and shared it on social media channels including WhatsApp.

The victim approached the police after the video was circulated on social media, but the cops in Thanagazi, didn’t take any action in the matter. The Rajasthan government put SP Alwar Rajeev Pachar on awaiting posting orders (APO) and suspended Thanagazi SHO Sardar Singh for the alleged negligence.
