Chandra Raj Singhvi likely to join Congress

Jaipur: The Bhartiya Janata Party’s former Secretary and political advisor Chandra Raj Singhvi is likely to join Congress. Singhvi in his twitter post announced the news on Saturday.

According to Chandra Raj Singhvi’s tweet, a meeting was held with AICC treasurer Ahmed Patel, general secretary Mukul Wasnik, former Banaras MP Prem Shukla and Rajeev Shukla and Chandra Raj Singhvi on Friday in relation with Rajasthan assembly elections 2018 at Singhvi’s residence.

Singhvi is currently the convener of the Independent Forum and he mentioned earlier that the candidates of his forum will join Congress party after winning.

As per Singhvi’s estimation, the independent candidates will mark their win in the upcoming Rajasthan assembly elections on more than 35-40 seats out of 200 assembly seats.

Recently in a jolt to BJP, former speaker of the Rajasthan legislative assembly Sumitra Singh joined the Congress on Thursday. She joined the Congress in presence of AICC general secretary Avinash Pande, PCC chief Sachin Pilot, former chief minister Ashok Gehlot. Sources said that Sumitra was not happy ever since the BJP announced its candidate for Jhunjhunu.

The Rajasthan polls are scheduled on December 7 and the results will be out on December 11.
