Dravyavati River Project: Gardens to be developed on lines of world famous parks

Chief minister Vasundhara Raje reviewing the progress of work on Dravyavati River Project.
Jaipur: Chief minister Vasunhdra Raje held a meeting to review the ongoing work on the current government’s ambitious Dravyavati River Project on Wednesday. She instructed the officials to ensure that the work on the project be completed by August 15, 2018.
She said that Dravyavati River was a landmark project of the state government.
“It will be a model project in the country. We will revive the river that has degenerated into a nallah,” said Raje.
170 MLD treatment plants, walk-way, jogging park, eco park, sitting area, check dam etc will be built as part of the project.

“The river will get back its lost glory,” Raje said.
She instructed officials to get rid of all the hurdles which might slow down the progress of the project. She said that they should start working on getting environment clearance for the second phase of the project. She asked the chief secretary to hold meetings with army officials to clear hurdles related to the riverfront in the military area.
She said that all the gardens under the project should be developed on the lines of world famous parks like Singapore Botanical Garden. She asked the officials to seek consultation from landscaping experts.
Tata Projects MD Vinayak K Deshpandey apprised the chief minister of the progress and assured her that it would be completed by the deadline.
Urban development minister Srichand Kriplani, chief secretary OP Meena, additional chief secretary forest and environment NC Goyal and many other senior administration officers were present in the Dravyavati River Project review meeting.
