Jaipur: The air connectivity to Mumbai and Bangalore will get a boost with three flights expected to be launched for these two cities in August. Since the Adani Group took over the management of the Jaipur International Airport, the group has made efforts to increase the air connectivity of Jaipur with other cities.

According to preliminary reports, Vistara Airlines is expected to launch three flights – two to Mumbai and one to Bangalore in August. Vistara Airlines is already operating flights from many other cities. Jaipur will be the latest addition to their list of destinations for air travel.

Sources said that Vistara – managed by Tata SIA Airlines Limited which is a subsidiary of Tata Group – has already started setting up booking and back offices at the airport. The flights to Mumbai and Bangalore could begin operations as early as the first week of August.

With air travel to tourist destinations, particularly hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on a decline, these new flights will likely increase passenger load.

Akasa Air – a brand of SNV Aviation Private Limited that is associated with Rakesh Jhunjhunwala has also obtained permission to operate flights from the Jaipur Airport. Other companies that are expected to start operations include Jet Airways.

The companies that operate the maximum number of flights from Jaipur Airport include Indigo and SpiceJet.
