Youth drowns in Galta Ji Kund, family alleges negligence in rescue
People saw him drowning and informed the police. While the cops reached on time, it is alleged that it took rescue teams almost an hour to arrive at the spot. The victim couldn’t be saved due to the delay in launching the rescue operation.

Jaipur: A youth, identified as Rahul, drowned in Galta Kund in Jaipur on Wednesday. The man had gone to the holy pond to take a bath, but slipped deeper into water.
People saw him drowning and informed the police. While the cops reached on time, it is alleged that it took rescue teams almost an hour to arrive at the spot. The victim couldn’t be saved due to the delay in launching the rescue operation. The police helplessly saw Rahul drowning and struggling to come out of water.
Rahul was a resident of Kishanpole area in Jaipur. He went to visit Galta Ji temple located in Jaipur early on Wednesday.
After offering prayers in the temple he went into Galta Kund for a bath. He accidentally went into deep water and started to drown. He screamed for help but nobody could save him.
Localities informed the police. A police team was rushed to the spot.
Locals said that the cops couldn’t do anything because they were waiting for the rescue teams to arrive.
The police handed over the body to family members after a postmortem examination.
