Walled City markets to remained closed on Dec 7; Traders appeal shoppers to cast vote

Jaipur: The Walled City markets will remain closed till 1 pm on December 7 due to the Rajasthan assembly election polls. The trader’s association has taken this decision to encourage people to vote.

The head of the association Subhash Goel and other members have made an appeal to all the traders of the association to cast their votes on December 7 and also to keep their shops closed till 1 pm.

“People should vote instead of shopping. Our traders should also vote. Voting is our right as well as our duty,” said an office-bearer of the traders’ association.

All the markets including Chandpole, Bari Chaupar, Chhoti Chauper and Johari Bazaar are likely to remain closed.
Meanwhile, many senior leaders of the BJP and Congress will be in Jaipur on Saturday ahead of the assembly elections. Political parties are leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters. The election campaigns by party’s senior leaders have been going in the state.

Ex-Finance minister and Congress leader P Chidambaram interacted with media at Jaipur on Friday. From the BJP, foreign affairs minister Sushma Swaraj participated in a programme named ‘BJP once again’ at Jawahar Nagar.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath will interact with people in Jamdoli at 5 pm and Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari will participate in a programme at Civil lines area in Jaipur and will address a public gathering at 6:30 pm in Vidhyadhar Nagar.

Punjab’s Cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu will address a public meeting at Malviya Nagar area of Jaipur and Cabinet minister KJ Alphons will be a part of the programme at BJP office in Jaipur at 9:30 pm.

The Rajasthan polls are scheduled on December 7 and the results will be out on December 11.
