‘Unlock’ begins in Rajasthan: Modified lockdown guidelines issued

Unlock begins in Rajasthan.

Jaipur: The Rajasthan government on Monday announced some relaxations in the ongoing lockdown restrictions as the state recorded the lowest number of cases since the peak of the second wave of Covid-19. All markets will be allowed to open from 6 am to 11 am from Wednesday to Friday. Private vehicles will be allowed to travel within a district during these four days from 5 am to 12 pm. Private vehicles will be allowed to travel between districts five days a week from June 8.

The lockdown restrictions will be in place from 12 pm on Friday to 5 am on Tuesday. The current restrictions will continue to be in effect from 12 pm to 6 am throughout the week. These restrictions are only for districts where the infection rate is less than 10%.

The government offices will open with a maximum of 25% employees from 9 am to 4 pm from Tuesday. This will be increased to 50% from June 7. Rajasthan roadways and private buses will run from June 10. The ongoing provisions will continue to be in place for other types of services and businesses. The ban on wedding ceremonies will continue and schools and colleges will remain closed. Malls and shopping complexes will also remain closed.

The weekend lockdown restrictions will continue till the number of active cases is less than 10,000 in the state. Markets will be allowed to open only in those districts where the infection rate is less than 10%.

Only 1498 positive cases were reported in the state on Monday. Of them, 200 cases were from Jaipur.
