Uniform and dress code for college students in Rajasthan.

Jaipur:  When we finish school, one of the most existing things is that we don’t have to wear uniforms anymore, but this might soon change in Rajasthan, at least for the 4 lakh students of government colleges. The Rajasthan education department is planning to impose a dress code and make uniforms mandatory for government college students from the 2018-19 academic year.

The dress code has been finalized, but feedback will be taken from student union leaders, students and department heads about the color of the uniform for each college.

“The idea is to impose discipline. We will take feedback from all the people concerned. The feedback will be collected by the principal of the concerned college and forwarded to us. We will then decide the color,” said an education department officer.

It is likely that boys and girls will be barred from wearing jeans and shorts.

“After deciding the color of the uniform, the college administration will send their recommendation to us. We will impose the recommendation. The uniforms will be made mandatory from the new academic session,” said a Department of College Education officer.
