JAIPUR: A family court in Udaipur has ordered Vikramaditya Singh, son of former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and current PWD Minister to pay Rs 4 lakh every month in maintenance for his wife.

This interim order comes after his wife Sudarshana Singh filed a complaint under the Domestic Violence Act in October 2022.

According to senior lawyer Bhanwar Singh Deora, Vikramaditya will have to pay interim maintenance of Rs 4 lakh until the case is resolved.

The court order was issued on Friday. Sudarshana Singh, who hails from the Chundawat Amet princely family of Rajsamand, had filed a complaint against her husband alleging domestic violence.

Vikramaditya and Sudarshana were married in Jaipur in March 2019 but differences between them increased after their marriage. The couple had been living separately since the Covid pandemic and a suit was filed in Udaipur court regarding the matter.
