JAIPUR: The Rajasthan High Court has summoned the Chairman of the Staff Selection Board (RSSB) to appear in person on March 7 in connection with a teacher recruitment case. The court has asked the chairman to produce records of recruitment examinations conducted over the past three years.

The case pertains to the recruitment of Teacher Grade Third Level-1, where it was found that there were large-scale changes in the preliminary answer key and final answer key prepared by the board.

This resulted in many candidates being excluded from the selection process. The court has questioned the board on what basis these changes were made and how many examinations’ final results have been impacted due to changes in the answer key.

Advocate Vigyan Shah, representing the petitioners, highlighted that answers of 8 questions of petitioners were considered correct by RSSB in preliminary answer key but were later declared incorrect when final answer key was released alongside results.

Hundreds of candidates have been deprived of selection due to this error. Despite instructions from High Court, RSSB failed to address these issues prompting further legal action.

The court has also ordered status quo on Level-1 of Teacher Grade Third Recruitment-2023 since November 30, 2023, resulting in a stalemate on recruitment for approximately 21,000 posts. The next hearing is set for March 7.
