South African arrested for cocaine smuggling in Jaipur

Jaipur: Rajasthan special operations group (SOG) on Saturday arrested a 32-year-old South African after he was found carrying cocaine. The man, identified as Peter Harrison, had come to Jaipur from Mumbai by a flight on Friday. He was found carrying 10 grams of cocaine and arrested from a hotel in the city, said ADG, SOG Umesh Mishra.

It has come up during preliminary investigation that Peter was involved in drug smuggling and was to deliver it to someone in Jaipur, ADG Mishra said.
“He had come to Mumbai on a tourist visa on March 18. He has been staying in Mumbai since then,” said Mishra.
IG, SOG Ashok Rathore said that Peter revealed about a network of gangs involved in smuggling drugs in Mumbai and Delhi.
“We will produce him in a court and seek his remand for further interrogation,” said the officer.
