Sirohi: 10kg gold worth Rs 2 crore seized from bus near Abu Road; 2 arrested

Jaipur: The Abu Road RIICO police of Sirohi district arrested two men for smuggling 10 kg gold from Gujarat to Rajasthan in a bus near Abu Road on Tuesday.
The gold worth about Rs 2 crore in international market was in the form of ornaments. The duo had allegedly hid it in a bag while they were on their way to Rajasthan from Ahmedabad in the bus.
The accused have been identified as Kishan Singh, a resident of Ahmedabad and Chandu Lal, a native of a village in Sirohi district of Rajasthan.
Police said that the accused were smuggling the gold to Jodhpur and Pali.
According to the police, the team got a tip-off about the gold smuggling. The bus departed from Ahmedabad. A police team intercepted the bus at a check point near Abu Road and checked the bags of the passengers.
The officers found 10 kg of gold hidden in a bag allegedly belonging to Kishan and Chandu Lal.
Police seized the gold and brought the duo to the police station.
Police are questioning the accused and are trying to discover the gang they are part of.
