Jaipur: The education department of the Rajasthan government has issued notices to 7000 private schools in the state for increasing fee in violation of the Rajasthan Schools (Regulation of Fee) Act.

The schools have been instructed to constitute fees committees and abide by the laws related to increasing fees specified in the Act. The schools were also asked to upload their fee structure to the private school portal run by the education department and also post the information on a notice board in the concerned school.

The education department has warned that the affiliation of the schools that fail to abide by these instructions will be cancelled. The instructions are applicable for the schools affiliated with Rajasthan Board as well as CBSE.

Of the school that received notices, nearly 350 are situated in Jaipur.

Parents have been protesting against the increase in fees for the past few days. They are accusing schools of arbitrarily increasing fees in violation of the rules. When the education department launched an investigation, it was found that at least 7000 schools in the state haven’t constituted even a fees committee. The department then issued these schools notices.
