Sanjay Kumar Shrotriya appointed RPSC chairman

Jaipur: IPS officer Sanjay Kumar Shrotriya, who is posted as Inspector General (IG) Jaipur range has been appointed as the chairman of Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC). Sanjay Kumar is an IPS officer of the 2013-batch. The orders regarding his appointment as RPSC chairman were issued by Governor Kalraj Mishra.

For the past two months, the office of RPSC chairman was being held by acting chairmen. The government had appointed Shiv Singh Rathore – an RPSC member as acting chairman after the retirement of Bhupendra Singh Yadav from the post in December. Rathore completed his term on January 30 following which Jaswant Singh Rathi was appointed as an active chairman. Ex-chairman Bhupendra Yadav was also an IPS officer. He was DG, Rajasthan police when he was appointed RPSC chairman.

Sanjay Shrotriya is a promoted IPS of 2013 batch. He had joined the police as a Rajasthan Police Service (RPS) officer. Shrotriya would retire from service in August. He was overlooking chef minister’s security before being posted as Jaipur range IG.

He was in CM Security from December 21 2018 to January 4 2021. Prior to this, he was posted as superintendent of police in SOG from 2015 to 2018. Shrotriya has also held the post of DCP Traffic in Jaipur from September 2013 to January 2014. He has been the SP of Jaipur Rural from August 5, 2013 to September 11, 2013.
