Sanjay Jain – arrested in MLA ‘horse trading’ case – remanded in 4-day SOG custody

Jaipur: Rajasthan special operations group (SOG) produced Sanjay Jain in a court on Saturday, a day after arresting him for his alleged involvement in horse trading of MLAs in Rajasthan. It is being alleged that Sanjay Jain has connections with senior leaders of the BJP in Rajasthan. He was arrested after some audio clips of mobile conversations between him and other MLAs went viral on social media.

Prior to his arrest, Jain was quizzed for nearly 24 hours by the SOG. He was then arrested late on Friday and produced in a court. The court remanded him in 4-day police custody. The SOG is now collecting call details to identify the MLAs which were in contact with Jain.

Sanjay Jain alias Sanjay Baradia is a resident of Lunkaransar in Bikaner. He has a house in Shashrti Nagar are of Jaipur. It is being alleged that he developed contacts with many politicians over the last 20 years. He is in hotel business and has connection with bureaucrats also.

The SOG has also filed an application for voice samples of Ashok Singh and Bharat Malani who were arrested in horse trading case earlier. They were arrested based on call recordings.

Rajasthan ACB has also initiated a preliminary enquiry into the allegations that three MLAs were involved in offering huge amount of money to other legislators in a conspiracy to topple the state government.
