Sambhar Lake Festival kicks off near Jaipur; Adventure events planned for tourists

JAIPUR: Sambhar Festival kicked off with a motorcycle rally on Friday. This adventure ride started from Hotel Khasa Kothi in Jaipur and reached the banks of Sambhar Lake.
The motorcycle rally was flagged off by Kuldeep Singh Chandela, President of the Rajasthan Tour Operators Association at 7:00 am from Khasa Kothi in Jaipur. More than thirty riders participated in this adventure bike rally.
The Sambhar Festival will be held till February 19 in the city of Sambhar, famous for its salt lake, migratory birds, pilgrimage sites and archaeological sites and ancient havelis.
According to Deputy Director of the Tourism Department Upendra Singh Shekhawat, the Sambhar Festival is being organized for the first time in Sambhar Lake city. According to Shekhawat, during the Sambhar festival, tourists will get a chance to see religious, adventure, wildlife and nature, heritage, and food tourism closely for three consecutive days.
He said that this festival has all the necessary elements for the entertainment of the tourists. Deputy Director Shekhawat said that following the instructions of the National Green Tribunal, all the activities of adventure tourism are being organized outside the lakeside keeping in mind the birds and other wildlife.
District Collector Prakash Purohit along with top officials of the district administration and tourism department were present during the Sambhar festival.
Many events were organized on Friday including the inauguration of art & craft stalls and a photography exhibition, a camel Ride and camel car ride for tourists, a fancy kite festival, adventure activities like parasailing and ATVs cycling, street performance by folk artists, Salt Lake and Sambhar town scenic view (Circuit House), bird watching tour, visit to Sambhar Lake and Salt Production Area (by Sambhar Salt Train) and a talk show on the history of Sambhar.
Trekking (Shakambhari Mata Temple), Mahaarti (Shakambhari Mata Temple), Bhajan evening and fireworks (Ramlila Manch) and Astro tourism etc. programs were organized. Such events will be organized on three consecutive days.
