Jaipur: The war of words has escalated between Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot and sacked deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot. Gehlot on Monday fired the fresh salvo and said that Pilot was nikamma (useless) and dhokebaaz (cheat). Gehlot said that Pilot has lost touch with the ground reality and betrayed the trust of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and senior party leader Rahul Gandhi.

“He (Pilot) got so much at such an early age and held so many important positions in the organization as well as the government. It’s rare. He got all this despite the fact that he doesn’t enough experience with groundwork,” said Gehlot.

He added that it was for the first time the president of Pradesh Congress Committee himself was involved in toppling the government of his own party.

“They have taken away the mobile phones of MLAs currently being kept in Manesar. Many of the are calling us through barbers and waiters. We are receiving calls. Pilot himself is involved in the conspiracy. We are fighting Coronavirus and these people are trying to topple the government,” said Gehlot.

This move would destroy Pilot’s political career, said Gehlot adding that even the BJP was saying this.

“When there was a conspiracy to topple Bhairon Singh Shekhawat government, I was contacted, but I refused to be involved in the conspiracy,” said Gehlot.

Giriraj Singh Malinga, the Congress legislator from Badi constituency, alleged that Sachin Pilot offered him Rs 35 crore to leave the Congress.

“I informed the chief minister about the offer. I met Sachin Pilot at his house in December when he offered me this,” said Malinga.
