RSS working as an extra constitutional authority: Rajasthan CM Gehlot

Jaipur: Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday lashed out Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and said that the organization was working an ‘extra constitutional authority’ in the country. Without RSS’s nod, no one can be appointed minister, chief minister and even the Prime Minister.
Gehlot was attending a debate organized on the occasion of 70th constitution day. Many senior BJP party members were also in the audience. He said that RSS is influencing everything and they have clout in every field.
He said that Sanjay Gandhi was accused of working as an extra constitutional authority which was proved wrong, but now RSS is working in this capacity in the country.
“No one can be a minister, chief minister and Prime Minister in the BJP without the consent from the RSS,” said Gehlot.
He added that Modi who was an RSS pracharak became the chief minister and then the Prime Minister which shows RSS rules the roost when the BJP is in power.
He said that RSS should declare itself a political organization now.
“Govindacharya of RSS had once said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee was just a face which also shows that RSS is the real ruler whenever there is a BJP government in the country,” said Gehlot.
