JAIPUR: Starting January 26, Rajasthan Roadways will offer direct bus service from all seven divisions of the state to Ayodhya for visiting Shri Ramlala temple.

To cater to this demand, roadways has made necessary preparations. Currently, an AC sleeper bus operates from Jaipur to Ayodhya every evening at 6:20 pm from Sindhi Camp in Jaipur. It reaches Ayodhya at 8 am and returns back at 4:30 pm, reaching Jaipur at 7 am the next morning.

The fare for a seat is Rs 1644 and Rs 1705 for sleeper class. Women can avail seats for Rs 1480 and sleepers for Rs 1542. Previously, there were no bookings available specifically for Ayodhya in this bus, but now there are around 15 to 20 bookings per day.

Due to a shortage of buses with the roadways department, only three-by-two express buses will be operated from places other than Jaipur initially. Although these journeys may not be comfortable for passengers, it provides an alternative means of travel that many people rely on.

Roadways has tendered about 76 AC buses which will be available in approximately four months’ time. The fare list is yet to be finalized but the minimum fare is expected to be Rs1200. Additionally, women will receive a discount of up to fifty percent on government-provided buses within Rajasthan borders as per current exemptions policies.
