Road accident in Bhilwara: 7 killed as van collides with truck

Jaipur: At least seven people were killed when the van they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck in Bhilwara district’s Bijonia police station area. The collision was so intense that all the seven passengers of the van were killed. Four of them died on the spot, while three others succumbed to injuries at a hospital. The police are investigating the cause of the mishap.

The victims were identified as Radhey Shyam, Umesh Jaisewal, Mukesh Nat, Jamunalal Nat, Amarchand Nat, Raju and Shivlal. They were residents of Singoli village in Bhilwara district.

The mishap occurred on Bhilwara-Kota highway near Naya Nagar. The victims were in a Maruti van. It collided with a truck. The van was completely damaged.

“Four of the victims died on the spot. Others were rushed to a hospital in Bijolia. The doctors declared them dead after they succumbed to injuries,” said a police officer. Six of the victims were residents of Singoli, while one victim belonged to Salavatia village.

The locals informed police about the mishap following which a police team rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. An FIR has been registered against the truck driver. He was booked under IPC sections pertaining to rash and negligent driving.
