Road accident: Bus with 40 Udaipur residents falls into gorge while returning from Pragyaraj
According to preliminary reports, the passengers belong to Udaipur district of Rajasthan. They were returning home after visiting Prayagraj when the road accident occurred.

Jaipur: A bus carrying around 40 passengers from Pragyaraj -Kumbh Mela skidded off the road near Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh and plunged into gorge late night on Monday. According to preliminary reports, the passengers belong to Udaipur district of Rajasthan. They were returning home after visiting Prayagraj when the road accident occurred. Some of the passengers are seriously injured. No casualties have been reported yet.
Police officials along with rescue teams reached the spot after receiving the information from locals about the mishap on Monday night. They rescued the passengers and pulled the bus out of the gorge. The injured victims were rushed to a nearby hospital.
According to the police, around 40 passengers, all of them residents of Udaipur, were returning to their city from Allahabad after attending the last day of Kumbh Mela 2019 at Pragyaraj on Monday. They were on the way near Kaushambi district when suddenly their bus lost control and fell into a gorge. A huge crowd gathered near the spot and informed the police about the incident following traffic Jam on the road.
The bus is said to be of Himalaya Travels Company. The cops are trying to ascertain what caused the road accident.
The Kumbh Mela 2019 at Pragyaraj was held on March 4 on the occasion of Maha Shivratri. It started on January 15.
Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Aditya Nath reached the Triveni Sangam and concluded the Kumbh Mela 2019 on Monday.
